True Witness

27. JCH5: 31-40

The only way GOD can witness Himself in our lives is when we do what He wants us to do and He glorifies Himself in the process. GOD will witness Himself through us if all His parameters have been met through His grace. He is the one that gives purpose and He must be the one that gives directions because He knew the end before the beginning; He masterminded them all. Let us simply be His vessels and let HIM speak and do as He desires!

All the prophets witnessed about CHRIST through their prophecies . . . they never witnessed themselves but only spoke according to the Spirit of the Lord upon them.

Whenever people come to us, who they must see is CHRIST because the moment we gave our lives to HIM, we have made a covenant that everything we do must be about HIM only. We do not witness ourselves but GOD through CHRIST. To the audience, we are witnessing GOD but To GOD, He is witnessing Himself as GOD and witnessing us as His own. As we glorify GOD with our lives, He would also glorify us with Himself. You would know the people that are of GOD based on how well CHRIST is represented in what they speak or do.

LORD, I am rededicating my life to You today! Help me to live in the confession of my salvation when I said “I give my life to You.” Let the summary of my story be Your Glory!

True Authority: Dependence on GOD

True Authority: Dependence on GOD

26. JCH5: 24-30

Even CHRIST had utter dependency on GOD while He was living among men. He said “I can of Myself do nothing“. Although GOD had given HIM all the right to judge, He would not judge without being led by GOD. This goes to all as leaders that we all are. When GOD gives us the right to rule and judge the affairs of some set of people, He is expecting us to trust HIM for direction as He trusts us with the lives of these people; hoping that we will not falter in our duties.

25. JCH5: 15-23

This is the perfect example of Father-Son relationship. The only example of discipleship and fatherhood we should strive to follow always. It is a relationship based on love and trust. A relationship based on the equality as the goal of the discipler (CHRIST) and obedience and honour as the elements to be found in the life of the disciple (Saints). Though GOD had given CHRIST the freedom and authority to judge, CHRIST would not do anything except the Father approves. Whatever He said or did was a function of GOD’s heart per time. Although He also had things to say that were evidently from the same GOD yet He would not speak them until GOD gave the permission

After being made whole or being healed, it was important that CHRIST told him what he must do or not do for his healing to be permanent. Sometimes, difficulties we face are results of our sins and disobedience to the Word of GOD and asking for healing is like asking GOD for forgiveness. So when CHRIST healed the man, He made sure to tell him that sin was responsible for predicaments.

23. JCH5: 1-9

The healing at the pool of Bethesda was a seasonal one but CHRIST came to offer this man a healing that was available in all seasons. The man was full of complain and excuses because his 38 years experience had made him loose hope but CHRIST showed and gave him Hope. He was looking for a man to help but there came someone whose help is all that mankind would ever need.

22. JCH4: 43-54

The Galileans did not receive the testimony of CHRIST until they saw the wonder and miracles He performed in Jerusalem. They did not honour HIM by believing that He was truly sent from GOD as He was proclaiming all around Judea and Samaria. He was too familiar to them that they could not honour HIM by believing in His Words. They could not honour HIM until they saw what He could do and the power He wielded.

HIS Will Is My Meal . . .

HIS Will Is My Meal . . .

21. JCH4: 31-38

Doing the will of the FATHER is what we are to live for and not the pleasures of this world that are present before us. The time for pleasure or meat must come after we have satisfied our appetite for doing the will of the FATHER. In truth, the only pleasure He wants us to have stems from giving Him pleasure by doing whatever He needs us to do . . .

First Things First . . .

First Things First . . .

20. JCH4: 25-30; 39-42

The woman heard CHRIST say to her that He was the Messiah and all she did was to leave CHRIST, her Waterpot and run into the city to proclaim CHRIST. She had not settled her case with CHRIST before going out to proclaim CHRIST that she had not fully encountered enough to change her life for good. CHRIST only introduced Himself and she went on without settling her case before Him. She was unlike Andrew who first knew where CHRIST stayed before he went to call Peter.

Although this Samaritan woman was responsible for directing people to CHRIST, she was unable to take part of the blessings the people she called to CHRIST received. She was only concerned with spreading the news with no regards to what would happen to her after all is said and done.

Our lives must first be presented before GOD so that He can purge us and make us clean even as we go out to proclaim HIM. He must sort us as we go to shine in the world for why should we appear to the world when our light is not 100% Pure . . .

We should stay with HIM enough before we introduce HIM to the people because it is in staying with HIM that others would be attracted to HIM more without endangering our own relationship with HIM.

Even though people would come to see HIM, He would still need to be through with us after they have come and gone. If we do not allow HIM to wash us clean before and after we go out to proclaim HIM, our relationship with HIM would suffer and it is our relationship with HIM that will sustain us not the works. This does not mean that our works are not important but they must all come after He must have sorted us out where necessary.

LORD! As you are using me to direct people to You, do not let me lose your communion in the process. Please hold on to me so I would not wander away in the name of proclaiming Your name.

Response to CHRIST’s Demand

19. JCH4: 15-24

Before CHRIST could give the Samaritan woman the living water she was asking for despite her refusal to quench CHRIST’s thirst, there was a need for CHRIST to address something in her life. But after CHRIST told her about her infidelity all her conclusion was that CHRIST was a prophet. She was busying examining CHRIST based on the immediate benefits without checkmating GOD’s words with her life so as to repent from her ways.

Because her life was not right by GOD, she could not offer true worship to GOD because true worship must start from who we are before it comes to what we can offer HIM.

When GOD wants to make our lives pleasing to Him or even bless us, He makes sure that our lives are changed according to His will before anything. Attempt to make our lives His pleasure without address the unGODliness therein will only lead to irritation more and more. In the same vein, He does not want His blessings to meet anything that is not of HIM in us.

What He blesses us with is His Spirit in us that speaks to our spirit in order to help us know what to do at specific points in time. Nurturing the spirit GOD gave us by obeying all His instructions as stated by His Word (Truth) and led by His Spirit without addition or subtraction is the True Worship!

Worship comes from our relationship with GOD which means that GOD would only accept whatever we have come to offer if our lives are pleasing to Him.

LORD! May I always be led expressly by Your Spirit so my live can be an embodiment of Your Truth!

There was a demand here from CHRIST to the Samaritan woman: “Give me water to drink.” The LORD is demanding the same from us this day. He wants us to quench His thirst. Out of what we have which actually belongs to HIM, He is saying:

“Give (Devote) your water (life) to me. Your salvation is a guaranteed that you have offered your life to Me.”
