The True Bread

The True Bread

30. JCH6: 22-27

So many seek for miracles and not GOD; they seek for provisions like jobs, exotic cars from GOD, but they rarely seek the truth of the LORD. They only seek for miracles but fail to realize that for every miracle, there is a purpose attached. Though we need bread for our daily needs but this bread alone cannot make us live the Life of GOD. It is the word of GOD that should be our priority and the bread would come running after we have digested the Word of GOD, which is the bread of the Life of GOD.

25. JCH5: 15-23

This is the perfect example of Father-Son relationship. The only example of discipleship and fatherhood we should strive to follow always. It is a relationship based on love and trust. A relationship based on the equality as the goal of the discipler (CHRIST) and obedience and honour as the elements to be found in the life of the disciple (Saints). Though GOD had given CHRIST the freedom and authority to judge, CHRIST would not do anything except the Father approves. Whatever He said or did was a function of GOD’s heart per time. Although He also had things to say that were evidently from the same GOD yet He would not speak them until GOD gave the permission

23. JCH5: 1-9

The healing at the pool of Bethesda was a seasonal one but CHRIST came to offer this man a healing that was available in all seasons. The man was full of complain and excuses because his 38 years experience had made him loose hope but CHRIST showed and gave him Hope. He was looking for a man to help but there came someone whose help is all that mankind would ever need.

22. JCH4: 43-54

The Galileans did not receive the testimony of CHRIST until they saw the wonder and miracles He performed in Jerusalem. They did not honour HIM by believing that He was truly sent from GOD as He was proclaiming all around Judea and Samaria. He was too familiar to them that they could not honour HIM by believing in His Words. They could not honour HIM until they saw what He could do and the power He wielded.

HIS Will Is My Meal . . .

HIS Will Is My Meal . . .

21. JCH4: 31-38

Doing the will of the FATHER is what we are to live for and not the pleasures of this world that are present before us. The time for pleasure or meat must come after we have satisfied our appetite for doing the will of the FATHER. In truth, the only pleasure He wants us to have stems from giving Him pleasure by doing whatever He needs us to do . . .

First Things First . . .

20. JCH4: 25-30; 39-42

The woman heard CHRIST say to her that He was the Messiah and all she did was to leave CHRIST, her Waterpot and run into the city to proclaim CHRIST. She had not settled her case with CHRIST before going out to proclaim CHRIST that she had not fully encountered enough to change her life for good. CHRIST only introduced Himself and she went on without settling her case before Him. She was unlike Andrew who first knew where CHRIST stayed before he went to call Peter.

Although this Samaritan woman was responsible for directing people to CHRIST, she was unable to take part of the blessings the people she called to CHRIST received. She was only concerned with spreading the news with no regards to what would happen to her after all is said and done.

Our lives must first be presented before GOD so that He can purge us and make us clean even as we go out to proclaim HIM. He must sort us as we go to shine in the world for why should we appear to the world when our light is not 100% Pure . . .

We should stay with HIM enough before we introduce HIM to the people because it is in staying with HIM that others would be attracted to HIM more without endangering our own relationship with HIM.

Even though people would come to see HIM, He would still need to be through with us after they have come and gone. If we do not allow HIM to wash us clean before and after we go out to proclaim HIM, our relationship with HIM would suffer and it is our relationship with HIM that will sustain us not the works. This does not mean that our works are not important but they must all come after He must have sorted us out where necessary.

LORD! As you are using me to direct people to You, do not let me lose your communion in the process. Please hold on to me so I would not wander away in the name of proclaiming Your name.

15. JCH 3:1-13; JCH 3: 31-36

Being born again comes from our belief and confession that CHRIST is the Son of GOD, our LORD and Saviour. Then we will begin to have knowledge about HIM and also know why He saved us and what He saved us into. His kind of nature (His Spirit like a baby) would have been deposited in us who are supposed to be fed like babies. As new born babies, we would see and recognize his Kingdom but we would not be able to enter therein because we have not fed on the Water and the Spirit has not been leading us.

Obedience and Authority

11. JCH 1: 5-13

There are two things to note here:

  1. The servants might be wondering in silence what CHRIST was trying to achieve by filling up the waterpots with water when all they needed was wine. But they did one thing right – They obeyed by faith and that was all CHRIST was asking for! Our walk with GOD must not be measured by what we know naturally. We must let our trust in GOD take control of our personalities and beliefs. As servants, all we need to do is obey as those who trust in His Person and His Words! And we cannot do this unless we yield all our being to Him. And as servants that we are to the True Master we don’t ask questions; we just obey first.

Question: What do you think happened to the servants that obeyed CHRIST?

My Answer: Their mind would be enlightened and they would want to know more about HIM. Our level of wisdom and understanding of GOD and His Son depends on how much we are willing to go in obedience by faith to His simple instructions without unnecessarily querying HIM.

  1. CHRIST was a man of great authority but at the feast in Galilee, authority was not given to HIM to approve or disapprove anything at the feast in Cana and He being the Author and the Fulfilling of the Law knew this. If CHRIST who is GOD respected authority, who are we not to?

In truth, our relationship in GOD is meant to make us good children and parents at home, exemplary students and teachers at school, and model citizens of our countries.

Even though CHRIST’s’ miracle was enough to direct all authority to Himself, He would still let the governor of the event determine whether the water is suitable as wine or not.

Question: What would have happened if CHRIST had undermined the governor’s authority in the process of turning water to wine?

Answer: The miracle might still happen and people would feel awed by what was done but that would have negated all that CHRIST embodied from the FATHER.

GOD give me the willingness and the yieldedness to obey You even when You do not make sense to me. Let my relationship with You be evident as a person whose life fulfills the law of GOD and men.

9. JCH 1: 46-51

Whatever Nathanael saw or knew about CHRIST that moment was too little to what GOD had in stock for him. CHRIST made him realise that the things He did was nothing compared to what He would do if Nathanael followed HIM to the end. Nathaniel was enraptured by CHRIST’s extraordinary performance but CHRIST was planning something bigger – Heaven on Earth. CHRIST made it known to him that there is something more than what man sees as extraordinary and all these things CHRIST mentioned would only happen if Nathanael followed HIM. He did not need to ask for them, he just needed to accept CHRIST and follow HIM to the end.

8. JCH 1: 41-45

Andrew was one of the first to follow CHRIST but he was not selfish to introduce his brother – Peter to CHRIST – that is True Discipleship and Evangelism. Discipleship to him at that point was not different from evangelism. He did not wait for CHRIST to be visible in his life before he started telling people about HIM because CHRIST was physically with them and he started right from his family by inviting Peter who happened to be his brother . . .
